Technology Workforce
Assessment Survey
|
Do you have technology
workforce needs in:
- computer programming or scripting
- high/low voltage power distribution
- network design or administration
- desktop support or system
administrationMid-Columbia Economic Development
District is conducting a technology workforce
needs assessment with the support of Columbia
Gorge Community College, Mid-Columbia Council of
Governments, and the Washington and Oregon
Employment Departments.
Express your need by taking a quick online
survey (15 minutes). Take the survey by clicking
here.
Your responses will help Columbia Gorge
Community College determine if there is enough
need to justify a new workforce training program
to help meet the anticipated need for a skilled
workforce. It will help determine one of two
possible courses of action:
- The regional workforce need fully justifies
the creation and implementation of a new program
by CGCC to help produce a skilled local
workforce to support continued growth of the
region's high-tech sector.
- CGCC could consider adding a limited number
of new classes, while making use of other
educational resources if the workforce need does
not yet justify implementation of a new
program.
Volunteers are also sought to assist in
surveying individual business owners. Contact
Amanda at 541-296-2266 or amanda@mcedd.org for
additional
information.

GTA Alternative
Transportation Show Success
|
"At the Green
Transportation Expo in Hood River, hosted Nov. 8,
by The Dalles-based Gorge Technology Alliance,
gasoline was a dirty word. There were modes of
transportation that used no oil products at all,
save for lubrication. Even hybrids, the darling of
the fuel-efficiency set, were left outside in the
pouring rain to peer through the windows at their
gas-free brethren." Click here
to read the full article from The Dalles
Chronicle.
