Meeting March 16: The Leading Edge
of Technology in Orchard Management
|
The GTA welcomes everyone
to a presentation by Clark Seavert, an
agricultural economist focused on technology
adoption in orchards. Besides directing Oregon
State University's North Willamette Research and
Extension Center, Clark is part of a nationwide
group working on a project known as the
Comprehensive Automation for Specialty Crops
(CASC). CASC is a 4-year project funded by USDA
and the industry to develop, test, deploy, and
commercialize various systems to improve orchard
management, streamline major operations such as
harvest, and reduce growers' costs.
This
is the second event in the GTA's Leading Edge of
Technology Speakers Series. This event is open to
the public and free thanks to a Google grant
supporting this series.

SearchFest
2010, March 9

Don't
miss SearchFest 2010 for insight into the most
up-to-date strategies and technological
advancements in online search marketing. Industry
experts and thought leaders from around the
country are scheduled to deliver in-depth
presentations ranging from basic SEM fundamentals

The
Dalles Receives Google Grant for Wi-Fi
Cloud
|
The Dalles announced they received a
$100,000 grant from Google to develop a wi-fi
cloud for downtown. The grant will allow the city
to purchase and install the equipment and maintain
it for three years. Under terms of the grant, the
city would provide wi-fi Internet access on a
24-hour basis for free for the first three years.
