GTA
Member Profile: Steven C. Davis,
Davis Wright Tremaine LLP
|
Steven
Davis, one of the GTA's newest members, is a
business attorney at Davis Wright Tremaine LLP in
Portland. The primary focus of his practice is
representing emerging growth
companies, including many technology
companies. His clients are
frequently entrepreneurs starting a business
on their computer at home or at a table in a
coffee shop - starting small, but dreaming
big. In his experience, every entrepreneur
believes they have found a niche where something
doesn't exist, but should, or where something
exists, but it could be improved upon. He
truly enjoys working with people who are
operating in that mindset.
Steven assists his clients with the
issues that startup companies face, such as
forming an entity for doing
business, connecting companies to potential
investors, reviewing contracts, representing
companies in financing transactions and, for some,
in the sale of their business. He is
sensitive to the fact that many startup companies
are bootstrapping and works with clients to agree
on fee arrangements that make sense.
Steven
was drawn to the amount of exciting
entrepreneurial activity going on in the Gorge,
including a lot of interesting tech
startups. He has several clients in the Gorge
and the firm has numerous clients here.
Through his GTA membership, Steven is looking
forward to connecting further with the Gorge's
entrepreneurial and technology community and doing
what he can to help grow that community.
Plus, the Gorge is the best place to take his son
and daughter to fly kites!
